season three heads into its endgame, one of the show's overarching storylines has just been resolved in a sadly underwhelming style. While fans had always guessed Bo-Katan Kryze would reclaim the Darksaber from Din Djarin , April 5's 'Chapter 22: Guns for Hire' wrapped things a little too early.
Since we got the live-action debut of the mythical Mandalorian weapon in season one, fans have been asking who will be the one to ultimately wield it and lead Mandalore back to its former glory. Back then, it was Giancarlo Esposito's Moff Gideon who swung the sword for his own gain, but Djarin added it to his arsenal after besting the Moff.
The start of season three further hyped their clash, with a downtrodden Bo moping around her castle after being abandoned by her people because she didn’t hold the Darksaber. Looking back, all this subtext might have been for romance instead of violence. Things came to a head in 'Guns for Hire,' with Axe Woves leading Bo's former supporters and mocking that without the Darksaber, she'll never be the ruler she dreams of. Surprising everyone, Djarin handed over the Darksaber via a loophole., Djarin journeyed to the bombed Mines of Mandalore and was captured by a cyborg creature that took the Darksaber from him.
Moving forward, Bo having the Darksaber in her possession also slices Djarin's most interesting storyline in half… just like Darth Maul.season three has pivoted to being the Bo show – presumably due to her popularity in
