Disney’s live-action version of TheLittleMermaid has found its star

. In short: Halle has an exquisite, Beyoncé-approved singing voice, perfect for a whimsical Disney princess role like Ariel. This is the latest in a string of casting reports from the upcoming adaptation, a remake of Disney’s 1989 classic about a young mermaid who gives up her voice in order to live on land as a human and win the affection of a prince. It’s been reported thatare also in talks to join the cast, to voice the seagull Scuttle and the fish Flounder, Ariel’s best friends.
