WASHINGTON—When President Trump’s lawyers met with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team last April to negotiate the terms of a possible interview with the president, investigators expressed some annoyance.
The two sides had come close to agreeing to terms for an interview four months earlier, investigators reminded the legal team. The interview was to be held in late January at Camp David for between two and six hours.
