New figures published by the government suggest it expects tree planting in the UK to almost halve by 2025. This isn’t the case though. The projections for 'afforestation in the UK” actually show a mix of figures for the UK as a whole and England only.
What was claimed
of hectares afforested in the whole of the UK, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero told Full Fact that the subsequent figures for 2025, 2030 and 2035 refer only to projections for England.
