Inside Glasgow neighbourhood where residents fear being caught in crossfire of gangland activity

Two days prior, another car was deliberately torched close to the alleged murder scene on Barclay Street on April 12. And more recently, bomb squads moved into Petershill Road on April 17 after a"suspect device" was located within a flat on the street.

Residents were evacuated from their homes until the cordon was removed this morning. A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.Recounting the week of chaos, one resident told the Record:"It's been pretty bad for gangland activity in the area. These gangland guys tend to attack each other, but they don't always get the right guy.

"There's always a worry that you could be caught in the crossfire. I've lived around here for over 50 years, but people don't feel safe anymore."
