Holidaymakers could be refused the pass even with a valid passport
From next year Brits will need a travel pass to enter Spain, Greece and other EU countries - but they could be rejected due to strict EU rules. Holidaymakers planning on entering Europe will need ETIAS authorisation, which will come into effect sometime during 2024.
Officials say you must be in possession of a valid ETIAS travel authorisation during your entire stay. You can leave and come back at any time, as long as you respect the 90-day time limit. 1. Passport is invalid An ETIAS will be refused if the applicant is using a travel document that is reported as lost, stolen, misappropriated or invalidated. Your travel document must also have a minimum validity of three months from the departure date and must not be damaged physically.
4. High epidemic risk If you have a high epidemic risk, meaning you are from an area where a disease outbreak has occurred, an ETIAS won't be approved. 7. Serious doubts about data A travel authorisation will be refused if, at the time of the application, there are "reasonable and serious doubts as to the authenticity of the data, the reliability of the statements made by the applicant, the supporting documents provided by the applicant or the reliability of their contents."
