The Princess of Wales died at the age of 36 in 1997 in a fiery car crash in Paris. The scene will be shown in the early episodes of the season.
“To be going back to Paris and turning Diana’s final days and hours into a drama feels very uncomfortable. Finally, some of the crew members are pushing back,” a source told the Sun.
“The show always tried to present a fictional version of royal history with as much sensitivity as possible. But lately, as things get closer to the present day, it feels harder to strike that balance. With some of those moments still so fresh and upsetting, it feels as though a line is being crossed.”The Princess of Wales was married to the now-King Charles from 1981 until 1996. They are shown with young Princes Harry and William.in September 2022 while the cast was filming the series.
“The passing of Her Majesty impacted on us all … It didn’t change [the story] fundamentally, but it did change it in a sense. When you see it, I think you will know what I mean,” Harries said. “It’s a very powerful film and a very respectful episode.
