Bahamians are facing their first major storm since 2019
The north-western Caribbean nation has been under Hurricane Watch with subtropical storm Nicole expected to batter the islands of Abaco, Andros, the Berry Islands, Bimini, Grand Bahama, Eleuthera and New Providence today . The storm will churn up sustained winds as strong as 70 miles per hour , forecasters have predicted. “Nicole poses an imminent threat to the islands under the warning. Everyone must prepare for the worst. For those who cannot secure themselves at home, please make preparations to move to the nearest storm shelter,” he said.
