Texas Parks and Wildlife commissioners voted to allow staff to buy property in Mitchell County that contains Lake Colorado City State Park.
“This makes all the sense in the world,” he said about the purchase. “I believe we’ve had a meeting of the minds on being able to do it. This will allow us to secure one of our parks for the long term and be able to own it.
Soon after the announcement that the Fairfield property had sold, many park lovers’ attention turned to Lake Colorado City State Park and other parks on leased land wondering if the same could happen again.
