show serious droughts between now and when we celebrate the state’s 200th anniversary in 13 years. “We can expect increased severity in our droughts,” Jeremy Mazur, senior policy advisor at Texas 2036, explained during a recent interview.
Ten years ago, voters also approved a statewide fund to help finance some of Texas’ supplies. Between 2015 and 2021, the Texas Water Development Board reports, the fund helped implement more than 50 recommended water strategies.
