Texas State loses to Stanford, setting up winner-take-all final at NCAA regional

The Stanford regional will come down to one final matchup Monday night, and Trout said Texas State will have to “mix and match” on the mound with a fourth game in four days. “Obviously if you get four hits, it’s going to be hard to win those games,” Trout said. “When you get to this point in the tournament, you have to find a way to scratch more runs. It’s hard to hold really good offenses for those long periods of time.”
“When he’s rolling, it’s hard to get him out,” Trout said. “Every time he steps in, I think he’s going to hit another home run. He’s really confident right now in what he’s doing.”
