New Boston man David McMichael is facing an abuse of a corpse charge
, an east Texas city about 30 minutes from Texarkana. Authorities said they received a call from someone requesting a welfare check on the home.
When officers arrived, they were met by McMichael. When officers asked if he knew why they were there, he told authorities that he had the body of his adult son in his kitchen.Police said that they discovered the body in the kitchen when they entered the home. McMichael was taken into custody without incident.
