While it will still be rowdy in the Aggies’ home, the Crimson Tide defeated Auburn 90-85 in overtime Wednesday night in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to clinch the SEC regular-season title. The Tigers blew a 17-point lead in the second half, and the Crimson Tide cut down the nets on their home floor and celebrated their third SEC regular season title this century.
“The last time it happened was with coach Metcalf 43 years ago, so we’re very thankful,” A&M fourth-year coach Buzz Williams said. “And we’re grateful that we’re playing on CBS at 11 in the morning . I know Alabama plays really fast and has the best players … we’ve got a lot of work to do.” “Dex is our leading rebounder and, yes, we’ve got to make up his points figure out his minutes,” Williams said on his postgame radio show late Tuesday. “ we’ve got to figure out the , because he does so much for us on both ends.”
