“If you think about it, that’s sort of the Texas way: Go bigger and better whenever you get the chance.'
The Texas A&M University System is doubling down on the first portion of its Fort Worth expansion, adding tens of millions of dollars to what many haveUniversity officials rubber-stamped the budget increase during a Texas A&M University System Board of Regents meeting on Thursday. The increased construction budget will go toward the Law & Education Building, which is slated to break ground in June.
“We’re here to serve the industry and the people of Tarrant County with whatever research and educational facilities they need,” Sharp continued. Recently, the Texas A&M University System revealed the architects and construction managers who have been selected to begin construction on the first building in A&M-Fort Worth.
The other two facilities, the Research and Innovation building and the Gateway conference center and offices, A&M-Fort Worth will immediately impact the city and have long-term ripple effects that are hard to quantify. In the short term, the project will create many jobs and reshape the downtown area, adding foot traffic for retail and other businesses.
