A motorist whose car was on a public road without tax has been ordered to pay more than £680
Eugene Wright, aged 23, was caught out in Telford on May 16 last year. The road tax on the car had run out six months earlier.
Wright, of Kingsway Crescent, Arleston, Telford, denied a charge of failing to comply with a motor vehicle's off-road notification, but was found guilty in his absence at Redditch Magistrates Court. Magistrates fined him £440 and ordered him to pay £127.50 in back duty to the DVLA. He was also ordered to pay £120 in court costs.
