A 13-year-old, 16-year-old and 17-year-old were detained at the Marymass Festival over the weekend.
Police Scotland said two youths, one aged 16 and one aged 17, were cuffed at the Marymass Festival in Irvine over the weekend. The festival is one of Scotland's largest community events and aimed at families. It dates back to the Middle Ages and draws thousands of visitors every year, has horse racing, fireworks, parades, a funfair, jousting, dog show, live music and stalls.
The Marymass Festival website describes it as "a traditional horse festival held every August in Irvine". It adds: "Mixing traditional with modern, our 12 days of festivities means there is something for everyone!". Then Provost of the Royal Burgh of Irvine, Peter S Clark, came up with the idea and the very first Marymass Queen was crowned in 1928, with the tradition still in place.
