According to Lt. Silcox, with the Sheriff’s Office, four people were in a sedan that was fired at in a parking lot. One person inside, a 16-year-old, was hit by gunfire, he said.The teenager’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening. Silcox said the teen was taken to a nearby home on Deersong Drive, where a phone call was made to 911.Scene on Deersong Road.
“At the same time, a community service officer was nearby, heard the shots and put a description of the individual out over the radio. Patrol officers detained a person who matches that description going on to the school property at First Coast High School,” Silcox said. “That individual and several other individuals were detained and they’re being questioned at this time.”Silcox added that the people detained are only persons of interest. Police were canvassing the area for video and witnesses.
