A teenager has been arrested after police say they found a knife and drugs worth £1,000 following a stop and search in Bury. Plain clothes officers were on patrol in Radcliffe centre yesterday morning when they say they saw a man 'acting suspiciously.'
An 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of both possession of a bladed article and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.Officers then later found another knife nearby that appeared to have been hidden in the bushes, however, they said they believe this was unconnected to the earlier incident.
One of the officers working on the operation, Sergeant Paul Heap said: "Every arrest made and knife seized is a fantastic result for the team as it means one more weapon taken off the streets of Greater Manchester.
