Some female athletes came to Lancaster County during the U.S. Women's Open to call attention to new Title IX regulations they call devastating.Hempfield High School graduate Lillianna Williams was one of nearly a dozen women speaking out against rules allowing athletes who identify as female to compete in women's sports. 'In the spring of 2021, a boy joined our women's track team. We weren't told about this prior to the start of the season.
'Fighting to uphold Title IX is about restoring fairness, respect and privacy for female athletes. The Hempfield School Board had the courage to do the right thing and make the policy that upholds the integrity of women's sports. Now, the USGA and the LPGA need to do the same thing. We need to take back our Title IX,' Williams said.
