, Taco Bell is letting its patrons vote between two former offerings that are not currently on the menu.
By the end of the year, Taco Bell stans will decide whether the Double Decker Taco or the Enchirito will make its comeback. The Double Decker Taco, a hard shell taco with the usual Taco Bell ground beef fix-ins, is wrapped into a soft, flour tortilla with refried beans. It originally debuted in 1995 as a limited time offer. In 2006, the Double Decker joined Taco Bell’s menu permanently before it was discontinued in 2019 after 13 years.Alex Tai/Getty
The second contender in this contest, the Enchirito, is a flour tortilla holding portions of Taco Bell beef, beans and diced onions, smothered in a red sauce and cheese. It’s basically an enchilada. Why didn’t they just call it an enchilada? Either way, the Enchirito debuted in 1970, but was discontinued in 2013.
