Passionate Sven Sprangler declared signing for St Johnstone was one of the happiest days of his life.
The Austrian midfielder has penned a two-year deal with the Perth club after impressing boss Steven MacLean on trial.“Honestly, it is one of the happiest days of my life,” he said of his Perth move.“When I was young, I always wanted to be a part of a club. I’m very happy about it.”“In Scotland they are physical and aggressive,” he said. “I’m the type who plays like that. For me, it is the perfect next step.
“All Scottish people are very friendly and love football. Football is like a religion for them - it is the same for me.”“The team-mates are amazing and high level in training,” Sprangler added. “I love the intensity. “I know it will be tough competition with these guys because they are amazing. Every single one of them.Manager MacLean had previously revealed that Sprangler is more of a defensive midfielder - a “destroyer”.
