A suspected gas leak is causing significant disruption this morning
The closures are in place in and around McDonald’s at the junction of Valley Road, Radford Road, and Vernon Road in Basford.
Drivers are experiencing delays due to heavy traffic caused by a suspected gas leak on a busy city road. The leak was suspected on the A6514 Western Boulevard. Road closures were temporarily in place in around the Valley Road junction with Radford Road and Vernon Road, by the McDonald's in Old Basford. Police said Valley Road and the nearby Western Boulevard, at the ring road, had reopened at 8.25am on Wednesday . Traffic reporting site Inrix reports residual delays.
"Very slow traffic and delays due to earlier suspected gas leak on A6514 Western Boulevard in both directions from A611 Hucknall Road to Western Boulevard. Congestion to Nuthall Road. All lanes have been re-opened." Drivers are being warned delays and disruption are expected to continue well into the morning, according to Nottinghamshire Police.
