UPDATE: A suspect is in custody Friday night, less than 24 hours after a woman reported being attacked while walking home past Rittenhouse Square early in the morning.
The suspect forced the victim between two tents which had been set up in anticipation of this weekend's fine arts show at the square, Kearny said. A security guard intervened and said something to the effect of"Hey, what's going on there?" prompting the suspect to run off, the police captain said.
The guard said the man wore a gray t-shirt, jeans and blue underwear at the time of the attack, according to Kearny.
