A woman wanted in Arapahoe County in a child custody case has been arrested in Texas and is awaiting extradition to Colorado.
and Howard Myles, the noncustodial father of the siblings, remain at large and are believed to be in the Houston or Baton Rouge, La., area where both Gardette and Myles have family. Gardette is the children’s mother.
Myles is also wanted on warrants for alleged violation of child custody and contempt of court, the sheriff’s office said. He may be driving a gold 2005 Honda Pilot, or a gold Pontiac Grand Prix, circa 2004 to 2008, with a sunroof. Myles earlier had a court-ordered visit and was suppose to return the children — Jyron Gardette, 9; Jehoward Gardette, 6; Israel Gardette, 4; and Heaven Myles, 7 — on July 2 but didn’t show up, according to the sheriff’s office.
The children are believed to be in danger due to a history of neglect, child abuse, drugs, domestic violence, weapons charges and previous endangerment, according to an earlier news release.
