Salon owner arrested in fatal double shooting in Avondale
Authorities have identified Jose Jesus Rodriguez Parra as the suspect in a fatal shooting that killed two people in Avondale on Sunday afternoon, one of which was his wife.
According to the Avondale Police Department, officers responded to an emergency call at 3:06 p.m. Sunday for a person who was shot at Ema's Barber and Beauty Salon near Central Avenue and Madden Drive. Police said that they found a man and woman with apparent gunshot wounds and that both were pronounced dead by medical personnel.
An investigation revealed that Rodriguez Parra and his wife are joint owners of the salon and that Rodriguez Parra came into the salon and shot the two victims, police said. Police said that Rodriguez Parra was booked into the Maricopa County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of disorderly conduct with a weapon.
