Supervisor Nathan Fletcher on the 2022 election, jail deaths, mental health and more [Opinion]

Democratic incumbent supervisor/educator Nathan Fletcher is running for re-election on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 4, which includes Clairemont, Hillcrest, La Mesa, Lemon Grove and Spring Valley, among other areas. He is challenged on the Nov. 8 ballot by Republican small business owner Amy Reichert.

Fletcher met with The San Diego Union-Tribune Editorial Board on Sept. 22 to discuss the 2022 general election and local and national issues such as the sheriff’s race, jails, homelessness, the U.S.-Mexico border and more.
