With life in Japan finally getting back to normal post-COVID, international SuperGT races are back on the agenda - but can the high cost of shipping be overcome?
This has put the question of the championship racing abroad back on the agenda, with Bandoh revealing interest from multiple Asian tracks when addressing the issue in his pre-race press conference last weekend at Okayama.
“The requests have been coming in from each promoter, but the problem is logistics,” said Bandoh. “We need about 60 40-feet containers, but the costs have skyrocketed since the pandemic and the price shows no signs of coming down. “There are also other considerations like hosting fees and scheduling, but we’re not at the stage of discussing that yet.
