Police Scotland officers descended on the home that Mr Murrell shares with his wife in Glasgow on Wednesday morning shortly after Ms Sturgeon, who remains a backbench MSP, had left for the day – while at the same time searching the party’s headquarters in Edinburgh. Police who took part in the search of the SNP’s HQ near the Scottish Parliament were also seen removing large green boxes from the building and stacking them into waiting vans.
