Students take part in trust-building program with Mobile law enforcement Murphy High School students participated in the Bridging the Gap Program Friday.

MPD Commander Curtis Graves says the Bridging the Gap program started to help kids get a different perspective of the purpose and roles of law enforcement in the community. According to Graves, the program primarily focuses on ninth grade students. He says after reviewing data from the school system they found there was a problem with ninth grade kids being arrested or suspended.

Mark Sabol is the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the FBI Mobile field office. He says this program is making a positive impact. Since Mobile began the program, it has been implemented by other FBI field offices across the country.
