StrangerThings' Vecna actor has one message for fans wondering how season 4 volume 2 can top the volume 1 finale: You ain't seen nothin' yet 👀 'If you thought that it was as big as it could get, it's not. [...] We learn a lot more as an audience...'😱
Stranger Things’ Vecna actor Jamie Campbell Bower teases an major reveals in season 4 volume 2. Matt and Ross Duffer’s homage to ‘80s nostalgia premiered season 3 on Netflix back in 2019, and following the climactic battle at the Starcourt Mall, death of Billy Hargrove , and presumed sacrifice of Jim Hopper, a powerless Eleven and the Byers decide to leave Hawkins and move to sunny California.
After a nearly three-year-long wait, Stranger Things season 4 volume 1 brought the show back with game-changing episodes on May 27. Season 4 volume 1 is darker and more mature than previous seasons, thanks in large part to Vecna - an Upside Down villain reminiscent of Freddy Krueger, Pinhead, and Pennywise.
I'm going to toe the party line here. It gets bigger. If you thought that it was as big as it could get, it's not. It goes further, visually, story-wise, and emotionally for all the characters. It really is quite an explosive climax, let's say. I know lots of people have used the word explosive and scope and scale, but I do mean that. It goes a lot further and we get to know more as well. We learn a lot more as an audience in these final two episodes, as well.
It’s hard to imagine Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 containing a reveal that rivals the volume 1 finale. When Bower was first announced as a season 4 cast member, Netflix named him as series regular “Peter Ballard.” Of course, there is no Peter Ballard. In actuality, Bower plays Henry Creel a.k.a. One, a physic kid who terrorized his family before becoming the inspiration for Dr. Marin Brenner’s experiments and, in turn, Eleven.
Dustin speculated that the Demogorgons are the Mind Flayer’s foot soldiers, and Vecna is his five-star general. This was before fans knew about his origin story, which raises even more questions about Vecna's connection to the Mind Flayer. Given his disdain for humanity and vendetta against Eleven, Vecna could be opening portals to get revenge and help his boss take over the world. Or, Vecna could have a bigger plan as the one actually in charge.
