A member of the public came across suspected human remains
People near the Nottinghamshire field where human remains have been found say it is "strange" that police remain on the scene one week on from the discovery. Nottinghamshire Police first arrived at the scene on Coxmoor Road in Sutton last Wednesday , just before 7pm.
Last Thursday , Nottinghamshire Police said they expected officers to remain at the scene for the next seven days. That would mean officers leaving by the end of this Thursday .But with that deadline rapidly approaching, forensic officers can still be seen at the site near the Little Nomanshill car park and there are now two forensic tents. Some of those living nearby have expressed their surprise that the investigation is still ongoing.
"You do hear bits and bobs on the grapevine but overall there seems to have been a bit of a news blackout on it since last week. We don't know anything yet, but I would say that area is very suspect and it certainly isn't somewhere where people should be going on their own at night." "I wouldn't say it's been particularly concerning for us as we're a bit far back from where this has been found, perhaps if it was a bit closer people would be worried. There hasn't been much disruption, but I do know drivers using Coxmoor Road have had to go up Derby Road and because there's no proper filter system at the traffic lights, that has been backing up a bit.
