Prosecutors have asked a judge to order former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon to report to prison immediately after an appeals court upheld his conviction on contempt of Congress charges.A three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia on Friday upheld Bannon's criminal conviction for defying a subpoena from the House committee that investigated the attack on the U.S. Capitol.In motion filed on Tuesday, Assistant U.S. Attorney John Crabb Jr.
appeals court to hear the matter.The 'decision is wrong as a matter of law and it reflects a very dangerous view of the threshold for criminal liability for any defendant in our country and for future political abuses of the congressional hearing process,' Schoen said.Bannon could also ask the U.S. Supreme Court to step in, but the justices denied a similar request from Peter Navarro, another Trump aide who was also convicted of contempt of Congress.
