Since the days of The New Teen Titans, the orange-hued hero with fiery hair has had a nearly constant presence on the team. Starfire is known for her exuberant personality, the compassion she feels for all living things and her once passionate relationship with Titans' leader, Nightwing. Over the years, the Tamaranean warrior has had a number of different looks, some fairly moderate, others quite revealing.

Szerdy's cover really does capture Starfire's best qualities. Her friendliness, her calm demeanor, and her regal, but also battle-ready outfit. Some artists may find it hard to give the Titan an outfit that honors her past incarnations, but one that isn't excessive or impractical. After all, there's a long and unfortunate history of superhero women being given costumes that barely qualify as swimsuits much less a decent costume for fighting.
