Star Trek: Lower Decks has resolved a long-standing Voyager plot line. The rights of holograms became a central issue in later seasons of Voyager, thanks to the Emergency Medical Hologram who gained sentience over the course of the show. He lobbied for hologram rights and in the first issue of IDW Publishing’s new Star Trek: Lower Decks comic, fans see his efforts may have paid off.
