Comedian Ms. Pat will hit the Emmy Awards before her San Antonio stand-up shows
She draws on her own experiences for both her stand-up and for the TV show. That includes her rocky teen years. She was sexually abused, and she had her first child at 14 followed soon after by her second. Going by the name Rabbit, she supported herself and her children by running what she calls a"small business" as a crack dealer.
She was shot twice and did some time along the way before comedy helped her forge a more stable life for herself and her family.Her act focuses a lot on parenting, including the children she had with her husband of 30 years and those she is raising now, when, she has noted, she is menopausal.
