Crews will be raising the ramp to make way for the light rail line that will travel underneath it.
The westbound onramp to State Route 520 from Redmond Way will be closed for four months due to light rail construction starting Friday, Sound Transit announced.
Crews working on the Downtown Redmond Link Extension will be raising the ramp over the future light rail line that will travel at ground level underneath it. Detours to westbound SR 520 will begin from eastbound Redmond Way and westbound Northeast 76th Street or Northeast Union Hill Road. While the closure is expected to last four months, Sound Transit says that inclement weather or other unforeseen issues could change that.
The Downtown Redmond Link will add two light rail stations serving the southeast Redmond areas of Marymoor Village and the downtown residential and retail core.
