The local dance company's co-founder and resident choreographer said she perseveres 'no matter what'
As co-founder and resident choreographer of City Ballet, Elizabeth Wistrich has become accustomed to the demands of a dance career.
This spring, three years after the pandemic shut down performances around the globe, Wistrich is looking back at how the lowest of lows has helped her family and City Ballet make a stronger-than-ever recovery. “Music is very important to a class,” Wistrich explained. “I remember saying to our teachers, ‘Why are students so late, they aren’t on the music.’ That was frustrating.”Elizabeth “Betsey” Wistrich dances during a photo shoot on Monday, February 13, at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach.
Though the company adhered to all health protocols, both Wistrich and her husband caught the COVID-19 virus a couple of months later.
