Dallas police follow speeding pickup driving wrong way on freeway
Revised at 5:56 p.m. to include additional information from police.
Dallas police said there wasn’t a chase but that a police helicopter responded to a reported stolen vehicle about 1:45 p.m. in east Oak Cliff — near East Illinois Avenue and East Kiest Boulevard — and was directing patrol officers to the location of the suspects. A Seagoville officer caught up to the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, but the pickup fled and the officer pursued, police said. As the chase continued, a tan pickup traveling toward the maroon pickup, swerved at the pursuing officer in an apparent attempt to interfere, Seagoville police said.
