The crash happened around 1 a.m. Thursday on the Loop 410 access road near Highway 151, causing the car to burst into flames. A preliminary police report says officers who came upon the scene initially thought it was a simple car fire.The report says that with help from bystanders, officers were able to pull both out from the vehicle.The man, who police say was the driver of the car, was taken to a hospital where he later died.It then ran up and embankment and slammed into a pole beneath the highway flyover.They say both appeared to be in their early 20s.Katrina Webber joined KSAT 12 in December 2009.
