The average first 50 degree day in Anchorage falls on April 15ANCHORAGE, Alaska - More sunshine can be expected acrossThe ridge of high pressure that has been influencinghas shifted to the east. While this will still mean sunny and warm weather today , Anchorage will be on the western periphery of the ridge. While this will mean more cloud coverage for some, only isolated to scattered showers can be expected for coastal regions.
Kodiak has the best chance for rain and wintry mix today , with winds gusting upwards of 45 mph. This active weather will likely lead to the return to daily rain for Kodiak, with coastal regions holding onto some showers and wintry mix through at least Friday. Despite some areas seeing the return to clouds and rain in the coming days, daily highs will continue to warm into the 40s., where highs are expected to climb into the 50s.
Our first run at 50 looks to come later this week into the week, as spring continues to return to the 49th state.
