LAKE BALBOA — After two lackluster halves by the Birmingham boys soccer team, momentum shifted in extra time and South East took over.
“It’s a big-time win for us, and I couldn’t be more proud of this team,” South East coach Felipe Bernal said. “We played hard all season and, through all the struggle we were able to get this far.” Birmingham started to get whatever it wanted, kicking for five goal attempts before finally tying the score at 1-1 with Diaz’s goal.
