South Alabama baseball coach Mark Calvi gets a two-game suspension.
Calvi will sit out Tuesday night’s game at Alabama and Friday’s conference series-opener at Georgia State. Veteran assistant coach Alan Luckie will run the team in Calvi’s absence.Calvi, who is in his 12th season at South Alabama, was ejected in the seventh inning of Sunday’s game after arguing a call at first base. The Jaguars lost two of three to the Ragin’ Cajuns, including 6-3 on Sunday.
The Sun Belt Conference office did not respond to requests for more information regarding Calvi’s suspension. South Alabama is 16-6 this season, 4-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
