This is delicious! after cutting off the bad spots from my fresh sour cherries, I only had 1/2 pound. So I third-ed the cherry cooking part of the recipe and halved the rest of the recipe. In hindsight maybe I could have added another fruit to make it more fruit heavy. But otherwise it really worked out. I didn't have sour cream or buttermilk on hand, so subbed in full fat greek yogurt and some oat milk + fresh lemon juice. Worked great. This is soooo delicious.I made this twice.
The second time I tried it with sweet cherries which was very good, but not as good as the tartness of the sour cherries. The second time I added a cup of chopped, toasted pecans to the streusel and I will do this every time going forward. Paired with the cherries the flavor was amazing. . This is lovely moist cake and will be a part of our summer dessert fare going forward!Delicious cake. I used 270 grams of cake flour rather than AP flour.
