“This win was completely huge for us,” McCollum coach Alessia Gallegos said. “We came in knowing this was a big game for us, knowing we had to focus. We talked about all of the things we needed to do right and every single girl executed at every single position.” McCollum added five more runs in the third. Guerra scored on a double by Espinoza and Bononcini’s single up the middle brought in two runs for a 4-0 lead. RBI singles by both by Abby Saldana and Gaby Hernandez extended the Cowboys’ advantage to 6-0.
