Social media reacts to the death of Houston education activist Gerry Monroe: 'We have lost a fighter'

Monroe has taken stances on issues that some have disagreed with, like his support of the state takeover of HISD and allegations of voter fraud in Harris County. Nonetheless, Monroe was able to disagree with others and still treat them with respect and appreciation, some said. “I can’t believe Gerry Monroe has passed. We may not all agree with everything, but he always supported me. RIP Gerry,” one Twitter user said.
