Tropical storm Estelle has been weakening in the Pacific Ocean but it's still bringing some strong waves for surfers on the Southern California coast for another day or two.
Some monsoonal moisture will arrive in the western region by the weekend, increasing humidity and lowering temperatures by a few degrees. On Thursday, Los Angeles and Orange counties will see mostly clear skies with temperatures hitting a high of about 83 degrees. The valleys and Inland Empire will stay hot Thursday, hitting an average high around 96 degrees. Temperatures will drop to the low 90s by the weekend.Mountains will mostly see sunshine, with a high of 85 degrees. Mountain communities may see a few thunderstorms by Sunday.
Deserts will be hot, hitting 102 on Thursday and staying in the triple digits at least through the weekend. Palm Springs will likely reach 114 on Thursday.
