Police say that a snow squall that led to zero visibility on Saturday afternoon is to blame for several crashes in the same area –- mile post 139.2 on I-81 in East Union Township, Schuylkill County. The initial crash occurred at 1:07 p.m. and involved three commercial vehicles and 10 passenger vehicles, police said. Four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Four additional crashes occurred in the back log with one person reporting injuries, according to state police.A snow squall warning was issued at noon Saturday for a dozen counties, including Dauphin, Cumberland, Franklin, Perry and Schuylkill counties by the National Weather Service in State College.
