The Cessna 150 was returning to Merrill Field Airport when it made the emergency landing on East Fourth Avenue near Ingra Street around 8:45 p.m., according to Clint Johnson, chief of the National Transportation Safety Board’s Alaska office. Johnson said there was an instructor and a student pilot on board.Neither of the two people onboard were injured and the plane was not damaged in the landing, Johnson said.
The plane pulled into a nearby parking lot after landing on the road, said Renee Oistad, a spokeswoman for the Anchorage Police Department.Police had no additional information as to the amount of traffic in the area during the landing, she said.Tess Williams is a reporter for the Anchorage Daily News, focusing on breaking news.
