Junior striker closing in on school mark for career goals, currently held by her aunt

No matter where you’re coming from, it’s going to take a while to get to the county seat of Cumberland County.
By the end of this week, Wilks could become the most prolific scorer in program history. Her aunt, Cynthia Wilks, Bridgeton’s current athletic director, still holds the mark of 84 goals scored during a three-year career from 1996-1998. Wilks has excelled despite the burden of her famous last name, which is synonymous with athletic greatness at Bridgeton.
“I’m not really worried about that at the moment,” Adelina said. “I’m just going with the flow and if it happens, it happens. My goal is to win and have fun with my girls. If I do get the that would be really big, and exciting.” “When that happens, I’ve got to look up and distribute or I’ve got to take more shots from the outside,” she said. “It’s been harder this year than last year, so I have to work even harder.”
Bridgeton is 6-4 with three weeks left in the regular season. It’s a program that hasn’t had a winning season since 1996, when a team featuring freshman standout Cynthia Wilks went 13-7.Wilks is hopeful that this is the year they can exorcise some demons.
