Singer Debbie Gibson joins Lucifer musical episode
Gibson, who will indeed sing in the installment, is playing Shelly Bitner, a controlling helicopter mother who won’t let her teenage son JJ have any say in his own future. Check out an image of her on set with Lucifer himself, Tom Ellis, above.
At the moment, we don’t know what causes all of the characters to break out into song in the episode; however, the showrunners are confident they’ve come up with a great reason. “We wanted to have a real grounded story reason why they’re signing and dancing, and not just, ‘Oh, this is going to be the one where everybody sings and dance,’” co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich recently
. “It’s been a little game of Tetris [planning the episode] but it’s super fun. It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be just such a bucket list thing for me.”
